Host Agreement

 

 

As a host for Homestay Australia PL,  I agree to abide by the following conditions in providing accommodation for International students.

 

 

1. All members of the Host family who are over the age of 18 years are required to have either a Police Check or WWCC card. Each state has their own requirement.

    Please arrange your Police Check or WWCC card when you are making your application. We cannot provide you with a student until this information has been

    received.

2. Payments. Ensure that all accommodation payments are made between Homestay Australia PL and you as the Host. (Not to the student)

3. Insurance. Ensure that your property is covered for Public Liability Insurance ; that there is a current Contents Insurance policy for the home;  and that your insurer is

    advised that you have an International student residing in your home.

4. Travel Directions. Take or have taken your student to and from school on their first academic day.

5. Notice. Provide your student with 4 weeks notice if you wish them to leave.

6. Accommodation. Provide a single room (unless agreed prior to arrival for a twin shared room); furnished with wardrobe hanging space, a chest of drawers, a desk,

    a desk lamp and a bed. 

7. Utilities. Not charge a student additional fees for electricity, gas or water

8. Meals. Provide meals (as requested) per day  

9. Laundry. Allow student laundry access if over 18 years.  If Under 18 years, provide a laundry service at no additional fee.

10. Compliments.  Provide toilet paper and soap.

11. Cleaning. Allow a student to access a vacuum cleaner to clean their bedroom.

12. Safety. Ensure that each student room has a Smoke Alarm and the student is advised of it’s purpose.

13. Safety. Allow power boards no greater than 2 sockets (10 amp per outlet)

14. Safety. Ensure that your home has an adequate Safety Switch at the main power board.

15. Safety. Ensure that the student’s desk lamp is not faulty.

16. Safety. Do not provide electric blankets.

17. Safety. Do not allow fan heaters in bedrooms, only oil heaters which must not be covered and used to dry clothes.

18. Safety. Ensure your student turns off their monitor from the wall switch at the end of the day.

19. Safety. Allow your student to cook during weekends but advise them never to leave the kitchen while they are doing so.

20. Telephone. Charge students for local calls (50c) only.

 

21. Internet. Provide Internet access. The student to not be charged more than $40.00 per month if you are providing the service. This can be ADSL or Dial Up

     connection. For parent, friend’s contact and study purposes only.

 

22. Heating / Cooling. Provide adequate heating and cooling in the student’s bedroom.

 

23. House a maximum of only 3 students at any one time.
